PTIN Number
To be a Tax Preparer, you would need a PTIN, Preparers Tax ID Number.
You can get one here by printing Form W7 and mailing it in.
This document also explains how to get PTIN online at the IRS website.
The Tax Law Training teaches the basic concepts of income tax law and is sufficient for preparing tax returns on paper. We will provide the additional training required to prepare taxes electronically.
